Ahmet Ali Çelikten born in 1883 in Izmir and died in 1969 in New York was a Turkish fighter pilot. It is considered one of the first black fighter pilots in history (the other being Eugene Jacques Bullard) who fought in the First World War.

Biography : 

Ahmed was born in 1883 in Smyrna (now Izmir) in the family of Ali Bey and afroturchanki Emine Hanim. He wanted to be a sailor, and in 1904 he entered the Naval Technical School. In 1908 he graduated from the College with the rank of second lieutenant. Entered the aviation courses at the Naval School of flight, based 25 June 1914 in Yeshilkoy.

During the First World War, he married Hatice Hanim (1897-1991), an immigrant from Preveza. He was the only black military pilot in aviation history, when the service began in November 1916. December 18, 1917 Captain Ahmed Ali was sent to Berlin to complete training courses on aviation.

He died in 1969 at the age of 86 in New York, United States .
